Double Lives

I was driving down the street the other day and saw a billboard for the new Fox show Lone Star. I don't really know what the show is about other than the main character (hot guy) is leading a double life--evident by the ad showing him being straddled by two different ladies.

The whole idea of the show turned me off....I have an aversion to cheaters.

However the more I thought about it...the more double lives keep coming up. Every show I watched tonight from Mad Men to Board to Death to Boardwalk was full of peeps in double lives. I guess it makes for good TV, but it got me thinking even further....is anyone I know actually living a double life AND do certain things about my life reek of a double life.

I guess no one will really know the answer to the final question...(step one in living a double life is being really good at keeping secrets..and not posting everything on facebook ) but just knowing the dirt I have on myself makes me think that there is some pretty crazy shit going on in the world.

Thank god for secrets. Nite nite!

Filling Up The Bar

I got a great offer from the owner of The Hide Out in Santa Monica that if I could get 40 friends to attend a party, we'd all get a free shot.

Well this girl likes a challenge and I took it on. My amazing friends all pulled through and we basically ended up owning the bar. It was like an episode of Cheers, except we were dressed better and dancing.

I'm officially done with celebrating my birthday now. Thanks to everyone for indulging a week long celebration...I think I needed it this year.

Now I'm off to my next adventure. Moving into to my new Santa Monica Apartment! Thanks Whitney for snapping this great photo of me in my red b'day dress. Here's to aging like a fine bottle of wine...or in my case boubon :)

YDT Photo Shoot

We were lucky to get a free photo shoot for the YDT Team. Here are a few of the pics of me.

I think I like em :) Plus it's nice to have photos of me with short hair!

Birthday Bliss

Happy Birthday to me indeed.

I had what might be a perfect day in the life of Tracy:

  • Living on the Beach
  • Surfing
  • Playing (and winning) 2 out of 3 games of beach volley ball
  • Chocolate cupcakes for breakfast
  • BBQ over an open fire for dinner
  • Hobo Bananas
  • Amazing Friends
  • Corn Hole
  • and of course....Simpler Times

Not a bad way to celebrate :)

Sweet Twenty Six

Yet another year has gone by and not a single post on this blog. Well on this final day of being Sweet Twenty Six let me say that I am committing to writing some thing every day of my 27th year.

This probably isn't believable, but you will see. Plus putting something down in writing typically means that you're determined to do it and I am.

I need place to write freely, free from structure, free from snappy-ness and simply free to just be me.

My 26th year has been the best year of my life in so many ways, and yet there has been alot of change, transition and hardship. For the first time in about 10 years I find myself alone. I'm a serial monogamous by choice, I love being in love. But now as I enter into the last part of stage of my 20s I find myself solo and okay with it. I'm scared and lonely at times, but I'm excited to just focus on me for a while as my sole priority (and with that comes the growth of my baby YDT) and of course discover what I really want out of life (so twenty something of me).

YDT has been my pride and joy this past year and it has changed my life and taught me so many things. I've connected with so many amazing people and businesses doing good in the world, I've forage a teamship (a team filled with amazing talented women who I not only consider colleagues but genuine friends--family in a sense) and more than anything I've found so much joy in growing an idea into something that people have grown to love. Words cannot describe what this experience has given me and everyday I am grateful for it.

I'm about to move to my second adult apartment in Los Angeles and my first time living with a friend in over four years. I'm looking forward to not picking up after other peeps if you catch my drift. I'm also excited about my amazing room mate.

Now all I can say for 27 is that I hope it brings "simpler times".

Here's my new founder photo for YDT btw. Me likie!

Totally Forgot About my Little Blog

So...what can I say. Things have been busy, in fact so busy that I haven't written in my little personal blog for over a year--I might as well through it out the window and start new.

This past year has been full of excitment and opportunity. I've been able to watch my little YDT grow and I'm so happy that I decided to see it through. We've worked long and hard and our efforts and starting to pay off. Now it's time to focus a little on me...

Being that I'm pretty green, I'm not just going to throw my old personal blog away--rather I'll repurpose it and start new :) I figure there are lots of fun personal stuff to blog about so I'm excited that I still have this space for it.

I'm going to try to stick to my once a week thing again, we'll see if it actually holds up :)

Sorry...I was out of town.

Sorry I have not posted once a week as I have promised. I had a few days off of work and stuffed them full with ydt work, a Venice Beach bike ride with my Best Pal LJ, and my old college chum Madeline got married this past weekend in San Diego. All and all, I've been running around but having a good time.

My show gave me Wed through Friday off last week. I took that time to interview some interesting people you will be seeing soon on ydt...sneak peak includes, Froote Jewelry, Vie Eco-Fashion Boutique, and Jenny Wax... More on ydt soon, so hold your horses :)

Honestly all of these people I met and interviewed are doing amazing work and all promoting sustainable methods of business, by using green principals in the design, to carrying safe, TRULY natural products. Kudos for all of them!

My biz partner LJ and I worked all day Thursday on ydt stuff. We have a goal of having our face done (the front end of the site) fully tweaked by September 1st (here is to hoping). Being that it was a beautiful day and we were on the West Side, we couldn't resist renting beach cruisers and going for a ride down the beach. It's a pretty good work out as well, my dariare was sore the next few days. I definitely think every Angelenos should do this from time to time, if nothing else you forget about all of the stuff you have going and appreciate one of the reasons we all chose to live here...the Pacific.

We also went to a club in NoHo that night called Skinny's where our friend Matt Gudis was Djing. Absolute Vodka was sponsoring a global climate cool down event. Especially we were asked to hand bike, or stationary bike in order to generate energy that would power the last 1/2 hour of the club. It was actually kind of cool, though that many people didn't participate because we only got about 10 minutes of power :) None the less it was cool to see a big company like Absolute to do this.

My pal Madeline got married to her British Beau in Encintas California. I have never been to a wedding before as a adult and I can honestly say, I had one of the best times. I got to see all of my girlfriends from college, and everyone who was at the wedding was genuinely happy to be there. The wedding was intimate, and absolutely perfect. I haven't felt such a happy and positive vibe in such a long time. I'm so happy for the two of them and I know they will be great together!

I spent the rest of the weekend in the north county San Diego town of Encintas, which is a quaint little beach town. It's just super chill, a great place if you are looking to get away from the hubbub of our city. San Diego proper isn't too far either, and we all decided to drive down on Saturday for the baseball game down at Petco Park. I've been to a few games in L.A. before but Petco Park has sort of a grass area where you can bring a blanket and just hang out while watching the game. The view isn't the best, but there is a massive wide screen T.V. and you can sort of see the field (as if your in center field...only waaayy back). Anyhow...these are my excuses, but I think they are good ones...taking a little personal time off never hurt any one :)

Ciao for now
