My show gave me Wed through Friday off last week. I took that time to interview some interesting people you will be seeing soon on ydt...sneak peak includes, Froote Jewelry, Vie Eco-Fashion Boutique, and Jenny Wax... More on ydt soon, so hold your horses :)
Honestly all of these people I met and interviewed are doing amazing work and all promoting sustainable methods of business, by using green principals in the design, to carrying safe, TRULY natural products. Kudos for all of them!
My biz partner LJ and I worked all day Thursday on ydt stuff. We have a goal of having our face done (the front end of the site) fully tweaked by September 1st (here is to hoping). Being that it was a beautiful day and we were on the West Side, we couldn't resist renting beach cruisers and going for a ride down the beach. It's a pretty good work out as well, my dariare was sore the next few days. I definitely think every Angelenos should do this from time to time, if nothing else you forget about all of the stuff you have going and appreciate one of the reasons we all chose to live here...the Pacific.
We also went to a club in NoHo that night called Skinny's where our friend Matt Gudis was Djing. Absolute Vodka was sponsoring a global climate cool down event. Especially we were asked to hand bike, or stationary bike in order to generate energy that would power the last 1/2 hour of the club. It was actually kind of cool, though that many people didn't participate because we only got about 10 minutes of power :) None the less it was cool to see a big company like Absolute to do this.
My pal Madeline got married to her British Beau in Encintas California. I have never been to a wedding before as a adult and I can honestly say, I had one of the best times. I got to see all of my girlfriends from college, and everyone who was at the wedding was genuinely happy to be there. The wedding was intimate, and absolutely perfect. I haven't felt such a happy and positive vibe in such a long time. I'm so happy for the two of them and I know they will be great together!
I spent the rest of the weekend in the north county San Diego town of Encintas, which is a quaint little beach town. It's just super chill, a great place if you are looking to get away from the hubbub of our city. San Diego proper isn't too far either, and we all decided to drive down on Saturday for the baseball game down at Petco Park. I've been to a few games in L.A. before but Petco Park has sort of a grass area where you can bring a blanket and just hang out while watching the game. The view isn't the best, but there is a massive wide screen T.V. and you can sort of see the field (as if your in center field...only waaayy back). Anyhow...these are my excuses, but I think they are good ones...taking a little personal time off never hurt any one :)
Ciao for now
